Course summary
The accelerated MPH Program is a 42-credit course of study, designed for health professionals with terminal degrees who wish to incorporate public health skills into their current positions or to make a career change. The 42-credit curricula have been designed to encourage the development of competence in key public health skills and to meet current standards in the field of public health, Council on Education in Public Health (CEPH) accreditation criteria, and the College’s mission, goals and objectives. Requirements for graduation from the accelerated MPH program are: One course in each of the five core areas of public health; Seminar in Contemporary Public Health Issues; Core courses in an area of concentration; Elective courses relevant to the chosen concentration and individual career goals; Public Health Internship; Major paper and presentation; (credit assigned through the Seminar in Contemporary Public Health Issues).
Entry requirement for international students
Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree or Master's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution or a comparable degree from an international institution, a minimum grade average of B for all upper-division undergraduate work and scores that are acceptable for the program to which students are applying. They must also have acceptable scores on the General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Students should contact the academic unit for specific program criteria, which will require them to submit such items as transcripts, recommendation letters, and more. International applicants should submit the English proficiency test scores (i.e.) TOEFL or IELTS.
