Course summary
The course of study combines general education in the humanities and the social, biological and natural sciences with education in the theory and practice of nursing.

Entry requirement for international students
Candidates for admission to undergraduate degree programs should have completed high school-level college preparatory work or otherwise demonstrate sufficient academic preparation to begin college work. Normally, high school courses should include, as a minimum, four years of English, three years of mathematics, three years of natural sciences, three years of social sciences and two years of a foreign language. Consideration for admission is based upon an applicant’s academic background, including high school academic achievement, educational goals and potential for success at Oakland University. Students applying as freshmen must submit scores from the American College Test (ACT). Students should have a TOEFL score of 550 minimum on paper-based, 213 minimum on computer-based and 79 minimum on internet-based. The minimum MELAB score of 77 is required.Students wishing to enter Oakland University with a pre-nursing major should have completed at least two years of high school mathematics, including algebra; one year of college preparatory biology; and one year of chemistry, with a grade-point-average of 2.8 or better in each. A cumulative average of 2.8 or better is required for admission to the pre-nursing program at Oakland.
