Course summary
Students will complete 96 credits during their first three years at FDU. They then must apply for acceptance to the professional component at UMDNJ for their senior year. Professional courses are taken at: UMDNJ, School of Health-Related Professions, 100 Bergen Street, Newark, New Jersey. Diagnostic medical sonographers provide patient services using diagnostic ultrasound under the supervision of a licensed physician. Sonographers look for subtle differences between healthy and pathological areas and decide what images to include in their report. The sonographer may provide this service in a variety of medical settings where the physician is responsible for the use and interpretation of ultrasound procedures.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants to Fairleigh Dickinson University are expected to have completed the secondary school curriculum that will best prepare them for their first year of study at the university level. Applicants for fall semester admission which begins in late August must submit all application materials to the Office of International Admissions. However, applicants are encouraged to apply early during their final secondary school year so that student visa documents can be sent well in advance to assure appropriate consideration at a U.S. embassy or consulate and in order to locate lower airfares for your trip to the USA. TOEFL scores recommended for application to Fairleigh Dickinson University are: TOEFL-I (Internet-based): 79 or higher, TOEFL-C (computer-based): 213 or higher, TOEFL-W (paper-based): 550 or higher. The required IELTS score is an overall band of 6.0 or higher.
