Course summary
This program is designed to give the prospective peace officer the academic and ‘hands-on’ skills training necessary to qualify for licensure in Minnesota. Both the academic training and clinical skills training are integrated and offered on campus. Upon completion of the program, students will have received the academic and skills training needed to take the Minnesota Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST) exam. The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) degrees range from 64 to 85 credits and include at least 18 semester credits of general education. Students must select courses from at least three goal areas of the MnTC.

Entry requirement for international students
Students should have a high school diploma or GED. If they don't have a high school diploma or GED, they must prove ability to benefit from post-high school education by scoring at a federally established level on an approved test. International students should have obtained a minimum TOEFL score of 500.
