Course summary
This program has three major categories of required courses: (1) prerequisites, (2) general education requirements, and (3) nursing courses. Prerequisite courses include chemistry, biology and algebra at the high school or college level with a grade of C or better. Students are required to take the ACT compass placement test in the areas of Math, English and Reading. Students must test at the college level or take the required courses. Courses taken at other colleges will be evaluated for transfer credit. If the content is equivalent to the relevant Ohio University course and the earned grade is at least a “C” it may be transferred. Decisions about transfer credit will be made on a case-by-case basis. Students must have a minimum college GPA of 2.75 or better. All transfer GPA’s will be combined for review by the selection committee.

The courses are:Foundations of Nursing I, Communication in Nursing, Assessment of the Middle and Older Adult, Pharmacology in Nursing I, Anatomy and Physiology, Chemistry, Foundations of Nursing II, Assessment of the Neonate to Young Adult, Pharmacology in Nursing II, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition, Adult Health Alterations, Mental Health Alterations, Pharmacology in Nursing III, Microbiology, Adult Health Alterations II, Maternity, Newborn, Women's Health Alterations.
Entry requirement for international students
Admission requirements are as follows for different countries: Students from India must possess Higher Secondary Certificate, Indian School Certificate or All India and Delhi Senior School Certificate with a grade of 75%. Students from Indonesia must have completed DANEM/SMA with grades of 7/10. Pakistan students must possess Intermediate or Higher Secondary School Certificate with a 55%. Students from Malaysia must have completed Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia with a 6 passes grade 6 or lower. Students from Myanmar should have a Bachelors degree with grade point of 3.5/5. Students from Saudi Arabia must have General Secondary Education Certificate with 75%. Singapore students must complete the Singapore-Cambridge GCSE O Levels with 6 passes graded D or higher. Students from China should have Senior Middle School Certificate with B/80%. Students from United Kingdom should have completed GCSE with 6 passes graded C or higher. Scores of ACT or SAT and TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based, 213 on the computer-based, 80 on the internet based or a score of 6.5 on the IELTS exam are required.
