Course summary
The mission of the early childhood education program is to prepare students to work with children from birth through age eight in a variety of settings. Students will develop a thorough understanding of child development, the value of play in children's learning, and how to develop appropriate classroom practices. Students will also learn to advocate for ethical practices in the field of early childhood education. Upon successful completion of this program, graduates will be awarded an associate of applied science degree.

Entry requirement for international students
An applicant seeking admission to Andover College must be a high school graduate or possess a General Education Development (GED) certificate or possess a Home Study certificate or transcript from a Home Study program that is equivalent to high school level and is recognized by the student's home state. All applicants must complete an informational interview. They must obtain minimum TOEFL scores of 477 on the paper-based test or 153 on the computer-based test or Kaplan’s most advanced-level English language courses, if English is not the student’s primary language.
