Course summary
This course is not transferable to the four-year agricultural program. Students who have an appreciation for working out-of-doors or for the challenge of creating and maintaining beautiful surroundings may be interested in a career in Turf grass Management. Turf grass managers establish and maintain grasses for functional (erosion control), recreational and ornamental purposes. They manage people and budgets and use their knowledge of plants and soils to produce high-quality, visually appealing turf grass areas. There are ample employment opportunities for well-trained managers in this industry.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must have graduated from an accredited high school with at least a 2.0 GPA minimum grade point requirement will be waived for applicants 21 years and older and transfer students or those who have successfully passed the GED exam. Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation and official high school or GED transcripts. SAT or ACT scores are not required. All international applicants must prove English proficiency. Admission will not be granted until English proficiency is met. An applicant may prove English proficiency by one of the following: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 79 on the Internet-based exam or 550 on the paper-based exam; International English Language Testing (IELTS) band score of 6.5; SAT-I Critical Reading score of 450 or higher; English Composition I and II with a grade of C or better from an accredited U.S. college or university; Advanced Placement International English Language (APIEL) score of 3 or higher; English Language Placement Test (ELPT) score of 965 or higher.
