Course summary
This concentration helps students build a foundation of knowledge in an array of food service, lodging management, and tourism industry settings. The concentration courses emphasize the development of leadership competencies and management practices that are valued in today’s hospitality industry. Successful completion of this degree program will help prepare students for further study in related programs at the bachelor’s degree level.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have earned a high school diploma, GED, California High School Proficiency Examination certificate, or foreign secondary school equivalent. Students who do not currently meet this requirement can arrange to take the GED through their state GED administrator's office or search for the nearest GED testing center. They can be currently employed. If not currently employed, they must have access to an organizational environment that allows them to apply the concepts they learn in their courses. Also they can be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or hold an approved, valid visa if attending a campus located in the United States. Students should pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Test of English for International Communication (TOEIC), the Berlitz Online English Proficiency Exam or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) if the student is a non-native speaker of English.
