The College of Health Related Professions (CHRP) serves the state of Arkansas as the primary arm of the University of Arkansas in offering programs that provide education, service, and research in the allied health professions. The College was organized as a separate college within the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 1971. The mission is achieved through the varied offerings of its departments. The College, the only one of its kind at an academic health science center in Arkansas, has as its main role the education of allied health professionals to serve in the health care delivery system in the state. Educational programs range from academic requirements of one semester to programs that require four or more years.

UALR offers a variety of housing options such as East Hall, North and South Halls (University Common Apartments), University court apartments, rental houses, summer guest and conference housing and off campus housing. East Hall is a traditional residence hall offering a support system geared toward first time entering freshman. It has the facility features such as beds for 306 students in a five story building which includes central air and heat, and carpet in most areas. Student rooms are furnished, two bedroom suites shared by four students. Suites include living area, bath and kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave. Internet access and telephone service (including voice mail and caller ID) in every room. common areas include a study lounge, a Computer lab with ten terminals connected to the University system and the Internet, a television room, recreation and vending. Unlimited laundry machine access, free gated parking and free mailbox service in the Commons building. North and South Halls are the new apartment style buildings which opened in August, 2006. This has Full kitchen, private bedroom with full size bed, and washer/dryer in each unit highlight these apartments. A new housing community building features a convenience store, computer lab, study space, home theater, and lounge areas for residents to mix and mingle. UALR owns a number of houses north of the campus between 28th and 24th streets. These houses are available for rent to faculty, staff and student families. Most of the houses feature two bedrooms and one bath, window unit air conditioners, floor furnace heat, washer/dryer hook-ups and fenced yard.
