Course summary

Entry requirement for international students
Students who apply for admission are considered on the basis of probable success as determined by: graduates of a Department of Public Instruction approved high school and who rank in the upper one-half of their graduating class will be considered for admission. Graduates of non-approved Iowa high schools or have taken the General Education Developmental Test (GED) with composite score of 57 or above shall be considered for admission. Additional consideration may be given to scores on standardized examinations. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. The American College Test (ACT), with composite score of 20 or above or another equivalent standardized college entrance test is required. If an applicant has been out of high school for five years or more, the ACT examination requirement is waived. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required of foreign-born students and applicants whose first language is not English. A minimum score of 550 is required. The General Education Development Test is required of all applicants who have not graduated from an accredited high school. A composite score of 57 is required. High School Curriculum Requirements: Course requirements and/or a recommended preparation of study English: 8 semesters (2 semesters must be in Composition.) English classes must have a grade of "C" or above, Mathematics: 6 semesters (2 semesters must be in Algebra.) Algebra classes must have a grade of "C" or above, Science: 6 semesters (2 semesters must be in Biology). Science classes must have a grade of "C" or above, Social Studies: 6 semesters.
