The Department of Biology at UNCG is committed to providing excellent and comprehensive instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. It offers a full range of courses to students pursuing a degree in Biology or Medical Technology, as well as to non-biology majors interested in the biological sciences. Biology majors have many options available to them, including the option to pursue degree concentrations in Biotechnology, Environmental Biology, or Human Biology. Biology students are encouraged to gain research experience through independent study with a faculty member, and to develop strong communication skills with writing- and speaking- intensive lecture and laboratory courses. Graduates of the Biology program at UNCG find employment in a wide range of fields and are well prepared for further study in graduate school or in health related professions such as medicine, dentistry, and veterinary medicine.

The University of North Carolina Greensboro is conveniently located near numerous off campus housing options and has several on campus residence halls. Most international students and scholars live in rental housing, including apartments, duplexes, townhomes, condominiums, rooms for rent and houses. Please refer to the following resources and sites for further information about on campus and off campus housing. The suite style Housing offers 300 upper class students. Each suite comes with four private bed rooms, bathroom area , living area and kitchen. Each bed room is furnished with six large drawers underneath a wardrobe and hanging space, a mirror on one side of the door, desk, computer carrel and desk chair. Moore strong offers a variety of housing options under one roof. There are traditional corridor style floor of double rooms as well as suites in the centre of the building. There is a large community room, known as the pit available for relaxation recreation and study. It is equipped with wireless capabilities for students to use their laptops. North Spencer Residence Hall offers residents the chance to live in a small close kit community. Residents live in corridor type double rooms.
