Course summary

This program is for students who seek a wide-ranging education in the liberal arts. Thirty (30) semester hours are required for the major in Classical Civilization. CLA 2010 is strongly recommended. CLA 4935r or an equivalent 4000 level course chosen in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies is required of all students. All remaining courses should be chosen in consultation with the Director of Undergraduate Studies.

Entry requirement for international students

Students must have graduated from a regionally accredited high school with certain academic units such as 4 units of English, 3 units of mathematics, natural science, social science and 2 sequential units of the same foreign language with a minimum cumulative grade point average in those academic units and present at least a B+ average in all academic subjects. They should possess the minimum critical reading score of 500 on the SAT, or 21 on the ACT English and 22 on the ACT reading, and a minimum math score of 500 on the SAT or 21 on the ACT and have a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA in 6 semesters hours of approved college-level English and mathematics. Applicants whose native language is not in English and who have not studied in an English-speaking country for at least one academic year must have the minimum score of 550 on the paper-based test, 213 on the computer-based test, or 80 on the internet-based test is required for admission.
