Course summary
The African American Literature Concentration is designed to familiarize students with the varied chronological development of African American Literature, 1750 to the present. The course offerings offer a full range of approaches, from the study of historical periods and genres to the most recent developments in literary criticism and theory.
Program modules
The modules include 3325 Survey of African American Lit. through the Harlem Renaissance, 3326 Survey of African American Lit. since the Harlem Renaissance, 4372 Major African American Authors through the Harlem Renaissance, 4373 Major African American Authors since the Harlem Renaissance.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants should have completed High school, General Education Development (GED) Test or have an equivalent qualification. Applicants must also submit scores on the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Testing Program (ACT). International applicants whose native language is not English must supply results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language TOEFL) or its equivalent.
