The modules are as follows: General Education Core Requirements for B.A. 56-58; Major Requirements: Literature Emphasis: Technical Requirement: ENG 1050 Understanding Literature Language (3) [Hours count in Gen Ed Humanities category]; Literature Core: ENL 2000 Critical Reading and Writing about Literature 3, Six hours chosen from the following: ENL 2110, 2210 and 2310 or 2330 6, Three hours ENL 2000-level literature survey course 3; 18 hours Upper-level ENL/ENW courses, to include 18: ENL 3800 Special Topics in World Literature 3, One from ENL 3520, 3540, 3600, 3620, 3660, 3910, 4620 3, One from ENL 3720, 3740, 3760, 3780, 3840, 3860, 3920, 3930, 3940 3, Electives including not more than 2 ENW courses 9; ENL 3000 Junior Seminar, ENL 4900 Senior Seminar in English Studies 3; Minor Requirements 18; Electives 19-21.
Entry requirement for international students
International applicants whose native language is not English must demonstrate proficiency in the English language by meeting any one of the following: minimum TOEFL score of 550 paper-based test (PBT) or 80 internet-based test (iBT); minimum IELTS score of 6.5; minimum SAT Critical Reading score of 530 or ACT English subscore of 23; successful completion of ELS Language Center Level 112. All applicants with college level coursework from a foreign institution must have their transcripts evaluated by an approved foreign credential evaluation organization, such as World Educations Services (WES) or Joseph Silny and Associates or an evaluation service listed currently as a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
