Course summary
The graphic design is the manipulation of type and image for personal and public communication. This activity is performed in both print and electronic media, within commercial, artistic, and academic contexts. Design acts as a medium for cultural investigation and visual expression. The areas of concentration include image making, typography, brand identity, motion graphics, information design, interactive design, and experience design.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed high school diploma or a GED. In addition, the individual has attempted fewer than 26 semester (39 quarter) credits at a post-secondary institution. If a student is graduating from high school and has less than 26 semester credits, she/he will be considered a new entering freshman, allowing the student to be considered for merit scholarships and participation in Academic Orientation. High school students should have completion of a minimum of the following courses: 4 years English, 3 years math (including a minimum of algebra, intermediate algebra, and geometry), 3 years science (1 year each of biological and physical science), 3 years social studies (including U.S. history) and 2 years single second language. Scores from either the ACT or SAT exams including writing is required. International students must have minimum TOEFL scores of 550 Written, 213 Computer, 80 Internet (iBT) or an IELTS score of 6.5.
