Course summary
Students are encouraged to take a broad range of courses from across the discipline of geography and fields of urban and environmental studies. They encourage students to acquire a second language and work closely to help them incorporate a semester abroad into their plan of study. Student may select courses in four general areas: Social Justice, Globalization, Sustainability, and Geographic Methods , described below with associated courses. In either major, it is possible to incorporate courses from other departments.

Entry requirement for international students
Students applying for this program must have completed the equivalent of an American secondary school education (usually 12 years of formal education) and have the appropriate graduation diplomas or satisfactory leaving examination results and official and original academic records from each secondary school and college or university attended. If English is not the native language students are required to take TOEFL test. A TOEFL score of at least 550 in the paper based test, 213 in the computer based test and 79 in the internet-based test are required. If native language is English and the language of instruction at secondary school is English, students are encouraged to take the SAT or ACT instead of the TOEFL. Minimum required scores for SAT is 500-600 on Critical Reading, Math and Writing sections and for ACT 22-24 in the Writing portion are required.
