Course summary
This program recognizes that many students in this program have the end goal of helping others lead happier, more fulfilling lives. To provide the necessary perspective and maturity, the program emphasizes the development of the whole person: mental, behavioral, emotional, and spiritual. Special characteristics of the program are a nurturing, compassionate, accessible faculty; broadening of perspective and life experience with the truly diverse multi-cultural campus environment; an emphasis on Asian thought; service-learning opportunities that encourage the development of practical people skills as well as a chance to exercise compassion; and undergraduates can participate in activities of Psi Chi, a national honorary psychology association. Numerous careers are available in counseling/social services, as well as business, medicine, education, government, and law. Many more career options and advancement are possible with graduate study, and all the students are encouraged to prepare for graduate work.

Entry requirement for international students
Applicants should have earned a high school diploma or the equivalent. Adequate preparation typically includes English (four years), social studies (three years), mathematics (three years), science (two years) and college preparatory electives (four years). For unconditional admission they must have obtained a minimum of GPA 2.5, SAT 900 (critical reading and math) or ACT 19, or a minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 21(computer-based) or 79-80 (internet based).
