Course summary
This program provides a broad business education and a specialization in accounting issues and skills. Students develop interpersonal, teamwork and problem-solving skills, and learn how to apply technology in the accounting field. Students in the financial analysis concentration develop skills in the areas of financial accounting, financial statement analysis, and traditional topics in finance (e.g., investments, portfolio analysis, and capital budgeting). This skill set provides a foundation for graduate level study in accounting or finance and prepares students for careers in public accounting, private industry, and governmental or not-for-profit organizations.

The following classes are offered in the financial analysis concentration: ACC 210 Concepts of Financial Reporting; ACC 211 Fundamentals of Accounting; ACC 310 Intermediate Financial Accounting I; ACC 311 Intermediate Financial Accounting II; ACC 410 Governmental and Nonprofit Accounting; ACC 411 Business Valuation; BUS 420 Financial Management of Corporations; BUS 422 Investments and Portfolio Management; BUS 425 Advanced Personal Financial Management; BUS 426 International Financial Management; EC 404 Money, Financial Markets, and the Economy ; EC 474 Economics of Financial Institutions and Markets.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have an A to B+ high school average with a strong college preparatory curriculum. Students should have SAT scores in the 1100-1300 range (highest math and critical reading score will be combined for best overall score); ACT scores in the 24-30 range. All international applicants must prove English proficiency. Admission will not be granted until English proficiency is met. An applicant may prove English proficiency by one of the following: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 79 on the Internet-based exam or 550 on the paper-based exam; International English Language Testing (IELTS) band score of 6.5; SAT-I Critical Reading score of 450 or higher; English Composition I and II with a grade of C or better from an accredited U.S. college or university; Advanced Placement International English Language (APIEL) score of 3 or higher; English Language Placement Test (ELPT) score of 965 or higher.
