Course summary
Atmospheric science is the study of the layer of air that surrounds the planet. It includes all weather phenomena, such as frontal systems and clouds, as well as severe weather events such as hurricanes and tornadoes. Concerns regarding the effects of human activity on the quality of the air we breathe, and on possible global warming are also central to this field of study.

Entry requirement for international students
As an undergraduate, a student may apply for admission as a freshman or a transfer. To be considered for admission as a freshman, international students must have completed secondary school with a superior average in academic subjects and have earned a certificate of completion which enables the student to be admitted to a university in the home country. Students who have attended school under the British system must present 5 GCSE/Ordinary level examinations and at least 2 Advanced level examinations with superior grades. International applicants whose native language is other than English will be required to demonstrate their English proficiency. This is most often accomplished by achieving a minimum score of 550 (paper-based) or 213 (computer-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and On the TOEFL iBT minimum score of 80. Freshman applicants who graduated from high school in spring 2005 or earlier are required to have taken the SAT I: Reasoning Test (or ACT) and three SAT II: Subject Tests prior to high school graduation and a score of 7 on the IELTS.
