Course summary
This program offers an interdisciplinary program of study whereby students gain a molecular understanding of the biological processes that take place in the world around us. Students pursuing the BS in Chemistry (biochemistry option) complete a series of courses in chemistry, biochemistry, and biology (with possible electives in biomedical engineering), as well as other technical and free electives that compliment their training. Graduates typically pursue careers in medicine, continue their study at the graduate level in the biological or chemical sciences, or take positions in industry or governmental organizations.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have score of the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT I). The scores must be sent directly from the testing agency to Georgia Tech. Regardless of the system in which student have been educated, they must earn a minimum score of 440 on the verbal portion of the SAT I to be considered for admission. Based on figures from previous years, they combined math and verbal SAT I score should be better than 1300 to be competitive for admission. Students should have official English translation and a document-by-document evaluation of the high school coursework. The document-by-document evaluation must be prepared by an accredited foreign credential evaluation service that names and describes all diplomas, certificates, degrees, periods of education or training and gives U.S. equivalences for each. This evaluation must also include a GPA.
