Course summary
This program in addition to General Education requirements, 60-63 program credits are required for a B.S. in Chemistry and the B.A. in Chemistry. The undergraduate study of chemistry at Adelphi is based on the principle of progression: a progression from the simplest to the most difficult concepts. This progression starts with general chemistry, which introduces basic concepts, followed by surveys of the different branches of chemistry, these being organic, analytical, inorganic, physical chemistry, and biochemistry.

Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must be graduates of an accredited four-year high school or academy or must provide documentation of equivalent studies that the University deems acceptable. Applicants are considered on the basis of their individual academic record and co-curricular activities. Students should have completed the recommended number of academic units: English 4 units, Science 3 units, Mathematics 3 units, foreign language 2-3 units, and additional 4 units to be chosen from history, social studies, and the above fields of study. Applicants must provide evidence of superior academic achievement and of proficiency in English. The minimum TOEFL score acceptable is 80 internet based score or 550 paper based score. SAT scores are required for students whose native language is English.
