Course summary
This program prepare students to be health care professionals with cutting-edge skills in medical laboratory theory and operations. Clinical laboratory scientists/medical technologists develop and apply current techniques to improve health screening and diagnosis of diseases as well as play a critical role in managing patient therapy. These health care professionals integrate knowledge from the basic sciences of biology and chemistry with the study of laboratory medicine and applied technologies. The program prepares graduates for their professional role via theoretical instruction and practical laboratory application in the major disciplines of hematology, immunology, immunohematology, clinical chemistry, and clinical microbiology. The degree program in Clinical Laboratory Sciences provides optimal flexibility toward student career options.

Entry requirement for international students
Students to be admitted should have graduated or will graduate from an accredited or approved high school and do not have any transferable college credits, and may fulfill the following admission requirements; Earn a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) in the following high school academic units: Emphasis on composition, rhetoric, and American, English, and world literature, Algebra or higher level mathematics, including first- and second-year algebra, geometry, analytic geometry, trigonometry, pre calculus, probability and statistics, and other advanced mathematics, World history, geography, U.S. history, economics, government and law. Biology, chemistry, or physics, with at least two years in a laboratory science. A combined score from the SAT Critical Reading and Math sections of at least a 1040, or an ACT composite score of at least 22, or a Nevada Advanced High School Diploma. All applicants whose native language is not English MUST take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of 500 or better is required for general admission (173 on computer-based test or 61 on IBT), 525 or better to major in Hotel Administration (195 or higher on computer-based test or 70 on IBT).
