Course summary
This is an excellent pathway to professional and graduate school. This program fully prepares students for admission to schools of veterinary medicine where they would work toward the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, or for admission to their medical schools for the Doctor of Medicine (MD), the Doctor of Dentistry (DDS), or others. Students would also be fully qualified to enter graduate school to work toward an advanced degree, especially if they are interested in a research career in one of the biomedical or related areas. If students decide after graduation from college that they will not go on to veterinary school (at least not immediately), their employment chances are very good to work as a lab animal facilities manager, biomedical research technician or laboratory animal science technician, among other professions.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must have: a combined mathematics and critical reading Scholastic Assessment Test score (SAT) of 950 or higher; a composite American Collegiate Test Score (ACT) of 20 or higher; a final high school GPA - 2.85 or higher. Students’ must show proficiency in written and oral English usage. If English is not the first language of communication, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required and a satisfactory level of English Proficiency on both the total and part scores are required. A minimum score of 550 is required. An applicant may submit new SAT/ACT scores in place of TOEFL scores.
