Course summary
The mission for this program is to academically prepare and train students to become qualified nutritionists/dieticians, food service managers, and health care professionals who can provide high quality nutritional health care to diverse populations. Such professionals should have high ethical and professional standards and they should be equipped with technical knowledge and skills, which permit them to provide the best possible health care to their clientele. The professionals should keep current with the latest training and information in their profession.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants must have: a combined mathematics and critical reading Scholastic Assessment Test score (SAT) of 950 or higher; a composite American Collegiate Test Score (ACT) of 20 or higher; a final high school GPA - 2.85 or higher. The expected program of study from their feeder school should be university preparatory and the leaving school certificate marks must support academic excellence. Students’ must show proficiency in written and oral English usage. If English is not the first language of communication, the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required and a satisfactory level of English Proficiency on both the total and part scores are required. A minimum score of 550 is required. An applicant may submit new SAT/ACT scores in place of TOEFL scores. For admission to all undergraduate programs, the applicant must present nineteen (19) units of high school credit in the following academic fields: English - 4 units; Science - 3 units; Mathematics - 4 units; Electives - 4 units; Social Sciences - 2 units; 2 units of the same Foreign Language. All students must present Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II and an Advanced Mathematics course. United States History is required. A biological science, a physical science and a science with a laboratory are required. No more than 2 units in vocational subjects and 2 units in the disciplines of Music and Physical Education.
