Course summary
The curriculum provides students a solid, multidisciplinary foundation for science-based decision making in natural resource management. Students will acquire a strong background in the basic sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, and mathematics) as well as a strong background in courses addressing critical issues in vegetation ecology and management, sustainability and restoration of forest and rangeland resources, watershed integrity, wildlife habitat, forage and wood production, and conservation of natural ecosystems. This major is designed for those students interested in pursuing careers that are focused on the ecology and management of forest and rangeland resources.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have a 3.0 (weighted/unweighted) GPA in the academic courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada. Students must be graduate of an approved or accredited high school. The minimum scores required for admission are: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 61 (iBT-Internet-Based Test), 500 (Paper-Based Test), or 173 (Computer-Based Test). International English Language Testing System (IELTS- must be academic version) with an equivalency score of 6. Completion of English 101 or equivalent from another U.S. higher education institution.
