Colorado School of Mines is a public research university devoted to engineering and applied science. It has the highest admissions standards of any public university in Colorado and among the highest of any public university in the U.S. Mines has distinguished itself by developing a curriculum and research program geared towards responsible stewardship of the earth and its resources. The apartment at Mines Park is an apartment complex that was built to provide convenient, affordable housing for the expanding Mines community. The complex was built in three different phases and has two apartments for both single students and families. There are one, two and three bedroom units for single students, and one and two bedroom units for families. The apartments are unfurnished. The kitchen is equipped with a full size refrigerator, dishwasher and an oven and range. Each bedroom has a hook up for expanded basic cable television and wired or wireless connection to the Mines network. There are two community centers at Mines Park. Both feature laundry facilities, television lounge, study area and a kitchen. A Convenience Store is featured at one of the community centers.
