Course summary
Civil engineering is comprised of four areas of emphasis: environmental, geotechnical, structural and transportation engineering. The undergraduate civil engineering student must complete a sequence of core engineering courses plus one or two courses in each of these areas.

Entry requirement for international students
Students should possess graduation from an accredited high school or they should have received a GED. The high school curricular core requirements should include the following courses: 4 units of English, 3 units of college prep math, 3 units of laboratory science, 3 units of history and citizenship and 2 additional units. An official TOEFL score of 550 on the paper-based test (213 on the computer-based test or 79 on the internet-based test), IELTS score of 6.5 and cumulative grade point average of at least a 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) is required.
