Course summary
Nutritional scientists work to ensure that our diets and those fed to animals supply the fundamental substances in foods which are essential to life. Nutritional Science combines the study of nutrition, a basic biological science, with studies of the roles of nutrients in health and disease and with studies of social , economic and biological factors that influence food choices and the nutritional status of humans.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have a 3.0 (weighted/unweighted) GPA in the academic courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada. Students must be graduate of an approved or accredited high school. The minimum scores required for admission are: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 61 (iBT-Internet-Based Test), 500 (Paper-Based Test), or 173 (Computer-Based Test). International English Language Testing System (IELTS- must be academic version) with an equivalency score of 6. Completion of English 101 or equivalent from another U.S. higher education institution.
