Course summary
This program gives students an understanding of the theory of statistics, trains them in basic use of the most important types of statistical methods, and prepares them for graduate work or for jobs in such diverse areas as marketing analysis, quality management, and support for scientific research. The program provides a broad foundation in statistics that can be combined with coursework in other technical disciplines or as a basis for further specialization in statistics.
Entry requirement for international students
Students need to have completed college preparatory curriculum through high school graduation such as four years of English, three years of mathematics, science and social studies; two years of single second language and one year of visual and/or performing arts. They must have obtained high school rank percentile (Students from non-ranking schools and those with GED or other high school equivalency scores are given full consideration), grade point average and ACT or SAT scores. International students whose native language is not in English must fulfill language requirements by taking Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of 213 computer-based, 550 paper-based and 79 internet-based; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80 or International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5.
