Course summary
This program is for students who are interested in exploring the languages, literatures, and cultures of Russia as well as Slavic/East European countries. Students in this track are required to take five semesters of their target Slavic/East European language as well as two semesters of any other Slavic language or Hungarian. (Russian is strongly suggested because of its importance historically and professionally for this region.) Languages regularly offered include Czech, Hungarian, Polish, and Serbian/Croatian.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicant should have a better academic excellence in their high school. There is no requirement for GPA or test score; however, the most successful applicants have taken challenging courses and have excellent grades. The average SAT-I score of admitted international students is about 1390 (on the critical reading and math sections of the SAT) and should have a competitive TOEFL score to be 250 (or 100 on the internet-based TOEFL or 600 on the paper-based TOEFL). An IELTS score of 7.0 or higher is accepted as an alternative to the TOEFL.
