Course summary
This emphasis is for students who are interested in using the tools of mathematics to solve applied problems common in the sciences, engineering, and the social sciences.
Program modules
Students will have their courses in Math 253 Calculus and Analytic Geometry I, Math 254 Calculus and Analytic Geometry II, Math 255 Calculus and Analytic Geometry III, Math 280 Discrete Mathematics, Math 301 Introduction to Analysis, Math 355 Linear Algebra,Math 361 Differential Equations, Math 458 Applied Math Analysis, Math 459 Partial Differential Equations, Math 463 Complex Variables, Math 471 Numerical Analysis.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must complete secondary education consisting of a college preparatory program with an above average academic record. Students are required to submit scores from either the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) (minimum score paper based: 500, computer based: 173+, internet based: 61) or the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency (minimum score 70). For evaluation of transfer credit from colleges/universities attended outside of the United States, submit transcripts to Educational Credentials Evaluators, Inc.
