Course summary
This program is designed to serve a variety of students concerned about environmental issues and change. The program provides a thorough, holistic view of the environment and human-environment interaction and the technical skills for active participation in an environmental career. The purpose is to provide a broad, self-directed background in the biological principles relevant to environmental education, law, and policy positions.
Program modules
The modules include Environmental Studies 289 Environmental Studies Sophomore Orientation, Environmental Studies 489 Environmental Studies Seminar, Environmental Studies 499H Environmental Studies Senior Thesis, Meteorology 200 Weather and Climate, Sociology 444 Social Demography, Anthropology 473 Ecological Anthropology.
Entry requirement for international students
The students must have the equivalent of a B average or higher in high school. The SAT and ACT are not required for international students, however the SAT is highly recommended. Test scores are influential not only for admission but also for scholarship consideration. A TOEFL score of 523 (Paper-based exam), 70 (Internet-based exam) or 193 (Computer-based exam) is required. An IELTS score of 6.0 is acceptable.
