Course summary
As a middle school teacher students will help the next generation of "tweens" navigate those wonderful, tumultuous years, grades fifth through ninth. Commanding the classroom is as important as commanding students subject area.
Entry requirement for international students
Freshmen and transfer students may apply to UMKC as pre-education and are admitted based on general University requirements. Candidates for admission to the School of Education are required to have completed the majority of their general education and pre-education coursework with a 2.75 cumulative GPA at the time of application (the priority deadline is March 1 of each year for admission the following summer). Applicants who have graduated from high school within five years of admission to teacher education program must also submit a score for either the ACT or SAT exam. A passing score on all sections of the College Basic Academic Subjects Examination (C-BASE) is required of all students.
