Course summary
Study in Psychology at NIU is of the highest quality as the department have over 30 full-time, Ph.D. faculty in the department, and offer courses within a variety of concentrations, including: clinical psychology, cognitive and instructional psychology, developmental psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, neuroscience and behavior, school psychology, social psychology.

The courses are: PSYC 102 - Introduction to Psychology, PSYC 305 - Research Methods, PSYC 410 - Experimental Psychology: Perception, PSYC 411 - Experimental Psychology: Conditioning and Learning, PSYC 412 - Experimental Psychology: Human Learning and Memory, PSYC 413 - Clinical Psychology Laboratory, PSYC 431 - Physiological Psychology, PSYC 433 - Social and Personality Laboratory, PSYC 464 - Developmental Psychology Laboratory.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants who rank in the upper half of their graduating class, or who have a grade point average of at least 2.75 on a 4.00 scale, must have an ACT composite score of at least 19 or an SAT score of 870-900 (recentered). Or applicants who do not rank in the upper half of their class but who rank in the upper two-thirds of their graduating class, or who have a grade point average of at least a 2.50 on a 4.00 scale, must have an ACT composite score of at least 23 or an SAT score of 1030-1050 (recentered). Applicants who are not high school graduates or who will not graduate from an accredited or recognized secondary school prior to enrollment at NIU must: have attained high school equivalency through General Educational Development (GED) tests; have an ACT composite score of at least 23 or an SAT score of 1030-1050 (recentered).
