Course summary
The Bachelor of Arts in Art and Design is not an enrollment-managed degree program. Students interested in the BA in art and design first complete the core design program, and then declare a major in art and design. The art and culture option provides a general studies degree in which students combine art with another area of interest.
Program modules
The modules include College of Design Core (11.5-12.0 credits) DSN S 183 Design Culture 3.0, DSN S 102 Design Studio 1 4.0, DSN S 131 Design Representation 4.0; Art and Design History 15.0, ART H 280 History of Art I 3.0, ART H 281 History of Art II 3.0, Select 6 credits from 300 level or above Art History courses 3.0 and Select a History course from ARCH, ART H, DSN S, LA or ARTGR 388 3.0
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants should possess a high school diploma, G.E.D or an equivalent qualification. International students, whose native language is not English, must have a minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 530 (paper-based) or 71 (internet-based). Students may also take the IELTS or SAT in lieu of the TOEFL. A minimum score of 420 on the Critical Reading Section of the SAT or an overall score of 6.0 with no sub score below 5.5 in IELTS is required for admission.
