Course summary
The Foundations curriculum is highly structured and intensive, introducing students to principles and theories in studio art and visual thinking. The courses present and develop many concepts and skills used by artists and designers. The foundations curriculum is fundamental in forming sound studio practice where critical thinking is encouraged through the implementation of principles of visual expression, discussion, and writing. This foundation area offers Drawing Fundamentals and Drawing Concepts, Drawing Fundamentals (ART 1307), 2D Design (ART 1305) and 3D Design (ART 1306), Digital Design (ART 2304).
Program modules
ART 1305 - Two-Dimensional Design, Art 1306-Three-Dimensional Design, Art 1307 - Drawing Fundamentals, ART 1309 - Art of the Western World I: Greece through the Renaissance, ART 1310 - Art of the Western World II: Baroque to Modern, ART 2304 - Digital Design.
Entry requirement for international students
Students should have completed official secondary school (high school) transcripts, diplomas, certificates, and/or national test examination scores as appropriate for the educational system in their country. Students must possess the equivalent of a U.S. high school graduation based upon a combined elementary and secondary pattern of twelve years with a better than average academic record.
