Course summary
Students graduating with a major in Government are well prepared for careers in government, law, the non-profit sector, diplomacy, international service, law enforcement, business, journalism, teaching, and further post-baccalaureate education. This International Relations and Foreign Policy emphasis investigates the broad field of international and global politics. Consideration is given not only to theories of international relations and state behavior but also to how states formulate their foreign policies based on assessments of their national interest, contemporary global problems, and geopolitics. This emphasis prepares students for postgraduate education in international relations and foreign affairs as well as careers in international politics, humanitarian affairs, and many others.
