Course summary

The comparative literature program offers a major and a minor. The courses provide the student with exposure to a broad range of diverse literary traditions. Both the major and the minor ensure study in the student's chosen foreign language as well as in various literatures and literary relationships across the boundaries of language communities. The major also requires some study in a second foreign language.

Program modules

The core courses: Comparative Literature Major (27 Hours) - CPLT 300 - What is Comparative Literature, Great Books (6 Hours) Select 2 courses from the folowing: CPLT 301 - Great Books of the Western World I, CPLT 302 - Great Books of the Western World II and CPLT 303 - Great Books of the Eastern World.

Entry requirement for international students

Applicants must be high school graduates or have equivalent qualification. International students whose native language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency by obtaining minimum TOEFL score of 550 (paper-based), 210 (computer-based) or 77 (internet-based). Applicants may also take the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) in lieu of the TOEFL. A minimum score of 6.5 is required for the IELTS.
