Course summary

This program builds upon a strong grounding in the liberal arts and subsequent in-depth exposure to functional areas in business including accounting, marketing, finance, operations, management, leadership, and computer applications. Students gain advanced preparation in global management, social issues management, team-building, managing diversity, business strategy, instilling innovation, and responding to the changing environment of business. The curriculum cultivates written and oral communication skills and the use of leading technology. The suggested program presumes that 62 hours of pre-admission requirements and free electives have been earned. Use worksheets and check with the Advisement Center if necessary to calculate earned pre-admission hours. While all the courses are required, there are a number of alternative sequences that are equally satisfactory.

The modules are: MGMT 300 - Operations Management, MGMT 303 - Managerial Accounting, MGMT 306 - Organizational Behavior and Diversity, MGMT 308 - Ethical, Political , and Social Environment of Business, MGMT 310 - Legal Issues for Managers, MGMT 322 - Marketing Management, MGMT 326 - Financial Management, MGMT 328 - International Management, MGMT 450 - Computer Based Information Systems, MGMT 498 - Strategic Management, MGMT 457: Diversity in Organizations, MGMT 463: Employment Law, MGMT 464: Human Resources Theory and Practice, MGMT 465: Labor Relations, MGMT 466: Training and Development, MGMT 468: Compensation and Benefits, MGMT 469: American Indian Business and Management, MGMT 492: Negotiation Strategies, MGMT 493: Internship in OB/HRM.

Entry requirement for international students

Students must have an American upper secondary school education or equivalent and have the appropriate diplomas or satisfactory results on leaving examinations, with strong academic preparation or a U.S. equivalent grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (for freshman applicants) or 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (for transfer students), a minimum score of 6.5 in IELTS or a minimum of 520 on the paper test, 190 on the computerized version, or 68 on the internet-based test in TOEFL, minimum score for the CPE or CAE is a C.
