Course summary
This program is a four-year degree of in-depth studio work with an emphasis on crossing conceptual and media boundaries. It is designed for students intending to become professional artists and those planning to continue their studies in a graduate program in studio art. The program may lead to careers in such areas as digital media, medical or scientific illustration, illustration, wood design, ceramics, jewelry and metals, fibers, drawing, painting, printmaking, two- and three-dimensional mixed media, photography, and new technological genres in combination with the traditional fine arts.

The courses include Integrated Studio Arts Core (27.0 credits) ARTIS 205: Studio Fundamentals I Ceramics and Fibers 3.0, ARTIS 207: Studio Fundamentals II Metals and Photography 3.0, ARTIS 209: Studio Fundamentals III Woods and Printmaking 3.0, ARTIS 211: Studio Fundamentals IV Painting and Computer Animation 3.0, ART 230 Drawing II 3.0, ARTIS 208 Color 3.0, ARTIS 310 Sources of Visual Literacy 3.0, ART H 280 History of Art I 3.0 and ART H 281 History of Art II 3.0.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants should possess a high school diploma, G.E.D or an equivalent qualification. International students, whose native language is not English, must have a minimum Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 530 (paper-based) or 71 (internet-based). Students may also take the IELTS or SAT in lieu of the TOEFL. A minimum score of 420 on the Critical Reading Section of the SAT or an overall score of 6.0 with no sub score below 5.5 in IELTS is required for admission.
