Course summary
In this program students are required to participate in at least one university ensemble related to the student's applied music concentration during each quarter in which the student is enrolled full time, with the exception of the quarter in which the student is student teaching. Students planning to major in music education will be placed in the "Music: Unspecified" category until the following requirements have been met: satisfactory completion of MUS 101, 102, 151, 152, 155, 156, and two quarters of applied concentration and ensemble study; minimum grade of C in applied and ensemble studies for two consecutive quarters; no failing grade in music courses during two consecutive quarters; and minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7 in total course work after the completion of 30 quarter hours.

Entry requirement for international students
Students must have earned a certificate of completion of secondary education that would enable the student to be admitted to a university in his or her home country, have studied mathematics and science subjects at the secondary level, a minimum score of 173(CBT) or 61/120 (IBT) in TOEFL (College of Engineering and Computer Science requires 197(CBT) or 71/120(IBT)), a minimum score of band 5 in IELTS, 1140 or higher in SAT or 25 or higher in ACT for coming directly out of secondary school with GPA is 3.25 or higher and must ranked among the top 10% of their graduating class.
