Course summary

This program develops the breadth of management, interpersonal and professional skills required to advance in today's complex business world. The program focuses in areas of finance, accounting, marketing, human resources, or leadership to design a program that meets the professional goals and needs. Others may want to choose a variety of electives to develop knowledge of many different areas of business, some with an eye toward starting their own business, others with a desire to use their skills in a wide range of industries, including health care, financial services, retail, and manufacturing. People choosing this specialization are often pursuing entry level business positions or seeking to advance their careers in a variety of business functions and settings.

Program modules

Core modules include: Developing a Business Perspective BUS3004, Fundamentals of Management and Leadership BUS3010, Fundamentals of E-Business BUS3020, Fundamentals of Marketing and Sales BUS3030, Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, Fundamentals of Organizational Communication, Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting BUS3060. Required specialization course Ethics and Enterprise BUS4801. In addition students should select 42 quarter credits of upper-division Business courses. Elective Courses include choosing 39 credits of additional undergraduate courses and Capstone Course to be taken during learner's final quarter includes: Business Capstone Project - 6 quarter credits BUS4993. To complete the Degree students need 45 quarter credits in general education subject areas with a minimum of 6 quarter credits from each category. Residents of Arkansas must complete Arkansas general education requirements.

Entry requirement for international students

Students must have completed high school diploma or equivalent. They must be at least 24 years old. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
