Course summary

This program develops the skills and competencies necessary to successfully manage people and organizations within a for-profit, nonprofit or government organization. Course work will provide an overview of key business areas to increase student’s ability to effectively partner with functions across the organization, while building such management and leadership focused skills as team collaboration, operations management, strategic planning, and change management. People who choose this specialization are often interested in pursuing team lead or supervisory positions in business, retail, government or military organizations.

Program modules

Core modules include: Developing a Business Perspective BUS3004, Fundamentals of Management and Leadership BUS3010, Fundamentals of E-Business BUS3020, Fundamentals of Marketing and Sales BUS3030, Fundamentals of Human Resource Management BUS3040, Fundamentals of Organizational Communication BUS3050 and Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting BUS3060. Specialization modules include: Virtual Team Collaboration BUS4011, Leadership in Organizations BUS4012, Organizational Structure, Learning, and Performance BUS4013, Operations Management for Competitive Advantage BUS4014, Strategic Planning and Implementation BUS4015, Global Business Relationships BUS4016, Ethics and Enterprise BUS4801 and Change Management BUS4802. Elective course include choosing 39 quarter credits of additional undergraduate courses. Capstone course to be taken in the last final quarter is Business Capstone Project - 6 quarter credits BUS4993. To complete the Degree, students need 45 quarter credits in general education subject areas with a minimum of 6 quarter credits from each category. Residents of Arkansas must complete Arkansas general education requirements.

Entry requirement for international students

Students must have completed high school diploma or equivalent. They must be at least 24 years old. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
