Course summary
This program provides opportunities to work on practical cases and acquire research, communication, marketing strategy and project management skills necessary for effective marketing and selling. Through elective courses, students can choose to focus on the fundamentals of sales and marketing or delve deeper into areas like marketing strategy, international marketing, customer behavior, services marketing, or public relations. People who choose this specialization are often interested in pursuing entry level or senior professional positions in marketing, sales, advertising, corporate communications, events, or public relations.

Core modules include: BUS3004 - Developing a Business Perspective, BUS3010 - Fundamentals of Management and Leadership, BUS3020 - Fundamentals of E-Business, BUS3030 - Fundamentals of Marketing and Sales, BUS3040 - Fundamentals of Human Resource Management, BUS3050 - Fundamentals of Organizational Communication and BUS3060 - Fundamentals of Finance and Accounting. Specialization modules include: BUS4022 - E-Business Sourcing, Marketing, and Sales, BUS4031 - Marketing, Sales, and Channel Management, BUS4033 - Brand Identity and Marketing Communications, BUS4036 - Marketing Research, BUS4801 - Ethics and Enterprise and BUS4802 - Change Management. In addition, students need to choose 12 quarter credits from the following courses: BUS4024 - Customer Behavior, BUS4025 - Sales and Sales Management, BUS4026 - Services Marketing, BUS4027 - Public Relations, BUS4034 - Marketing Strategy and BUS4035 - Marketing Across Borders.
Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed high school diploma or equivalent. They must be at least 24 years old. International students whose language of instruction is not English are required to take one of the following tests: the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum acceptable score of 550 on paper-based test, 213 on computer-based test with a score of 4.0 or higher on the Test of Written English (TWE), or 79 on internet based examination; Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) score of 80; International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a score of 6.5; or Pearson Test of English (PTE) score of 59.
