Course summary
This program provides students with a solid background in Criminal Justice and the dynamic field requires students with a well-rounded education, capable of meeting the challenges of criminal justice practice in the twenty-first century. It offers excellent preparation for students who wish to enter the diverse field of criminal justice, as well as an excellent education for current criminal justice professionals. The curriculum offers an interesting array of courses and faculty members. Students examine issues relating to crime, law, and justice. They will have the opportunity to take classes with nationally recognized faculty as well as with a dedicated group of criminal justice professionals. The curriculum stresses understanding the structure, organization, and function of the administration of justice. Students will study theoretical perspectives on criminal activity and develop their research skills.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicant should be a high school graduate and should have a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) (a B or better where A=4.0) from a secondary school. They do not require ACT or SAT tests, but it is necessary to have English language proficiency either a minimum score of 500 (paper-based), 173 (computer-based), or 61 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or minimum overall band of 6.0 with no band below 5.5 on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). There are exceptions to TOEFL or IELTS scores for applicants who have completed their junior and senior years in a U.S. high school with SAT Verbal score of 550 or ACT English score of 23 and applicants who have completed a minimum of 48 transferable semester credits including 6 credits of freshman English composition at a U.S. college or university with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
