Course summary
This program provides skilled instruction in the management and use of information and information systems for health care planning and provision, resource allocation, and executive decision-making. Health information management professionals are responsible for safeguarding the most confidential patient data, including medical histories, lab test reports, diagnoses, treatment plans, insurance information, medications, and the notes of doctors and nurses. Working as a critical link between doctors, insurance providers and patients, they manage health information in a way that is consistent with the medical, administrative, ethical and legal requirements of today’s sensitive environment for protecting health information.

Entry requirement for international students
Students must have completed the 60 semester hours of prerequisite courses. They must present a satisfactory combination of class rank and ACT or SAT test scores. Applicants from countries where the official language of the country is not English must have the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 on paper-based or 213 on computer-based is required for admission.
