Course summary
This program is an integral part of the overall mission of the Department of Emergency Medicine and The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences to meet the responsibility to develop, enrich, and grow the field of emergency medical services through academics, research, leadership, and expert counsel to interests at the local, regional, national and international levels. It prepares emergency medical service providers for management, educational and leadership roles as initial supervisors, mid-level managers and administrators. This program allows the student to develop a depth of knowledge in a growing discipline that is at the intersection of public health, public safety and healthcare. EHS encompasses emergency preparedness, incident management, deployment, disaster planning and response, special operations, illness and injury prevention, homeland security and leadership.
