Course summary
Hospitality and Tourism is a multi-disciplinary major preparing students for employment in the broad field of hospitality management. It is a field of study that equips its graduates with the abilities, skills, and knowledge for handling demanding managerial positions, while instilling a commitment to succeed in an increasingly competitive operational environment. The specialization has a strong business orientation and emphasizes excellence, quality, and professionalism. The academic emphasis is on providing the student with fundamental principles, management concepts, and analytical procedures which will be of value throughout the individual's career. To enhance career opportunities, the student has three options from which to chose for specialization: (1) food service management (2) lodging management, and (3) tourism management; as well as 27 hours in electives to be put toward obtaining a minor. Overall, a student works with an advisor to design an individually tailored program to incorporate special interests, career development and personal success.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicant should have secondary school certificates or mark sheet and all college/university transcripts. They should also submit the scores from the American College Test (ACT) or the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and should have a bank statement or letter from their sponsor, with the financial statement attached, and return it with their admission application. Successful completion of the TOEFL examination with the following scores - 520 (PB), 190 (CB), 68 (IB) and score of 6.5 on the IELTS Exam are required for admission.
