Course summary
The Bachelor of Science degree with a major in mathematics is recommended for the student desiring considerable specialization in mathematics. Courses selected according to the student’s objective will prepare him/her for employment as a mathematician in industry or government, in the fields of science, engineering, computers, statistics, business, economics, and actuarial science.

Entry requirement for international students
Students who graduate from an accredited high school must meet one of the following three requirements: ACT composite of 21 or higher or Rank in the top third of the graduating class or A grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale in the recommended core curriculum courses. International student applicants whose language is not English must take the “Test of English as a Foreign Language” (TOEFL) and have the score sent directly to Emporia State University from the testing center. Applicants are responsible for making arrangements with the Educational Testing Service (ETS) and having their scores reported directly from ETS to the Office of International Education.
