Course summary
This is a comprehensive professional program with a practitioners focus to prepare students for service in the church as pulpit ministers, elders, deacons, missionaries, and Bible teachers. It helps prepare students for allied Christian leadership positions in youth services or as ministers of education at large congregations or chaplains in hospitals, the armed forces, universities and correctional institutions. Upon completion of the program students will have acquired skills and knowledge in general education areas that are foundation to life skills and further education, gained basic knowledge of the Old and New Testament, developed basic skills required for ministry and leadership skills.
Program modules
The Lower Division Courses must include at least one course in Math or Natural Science, one in Social Science or Behavioral Science, one in Humanities or Fine Arts and one in Communications (English). The foundation course, FD 1412 Management Intervention is strongly recommended for all students. The other courses include: NT 3406 Life and Teachings of Christ, FD 3401 Hermeneutics, PS 4401 Homiletics, PS 3401 Life and Work of a Minister, PS 4414 Leadership for Christian Service or HD 4426 Fundamentals of Effective Leadership, NT 3403 Introduction and Survey of New Testament, OT 3401 Introduction and Survey of Old Testament, PH 4401 World Views: Islam, Humanism, Marxism, Christianity and TH 4405 Systematic Theology.
Entry requirement for international students
Applicants should have a minimum TOEFL score of 440 for the paper examination version and 123 for the computer version or equivalent score of an approved equivalent test.
